This listing is for a completely bioactive (self sustaining) gecko tank. This is well over $1,000 worth of equipment. If you’re familiar with reptiles you know this to be true. Listing includes: 40 gallon front opening tank, 40 gallon metal stand, bioactive interior (top soil, play sand, isopods, springtails, moss, leaf clutter, live plants), all hides and accessories, plant light, linear UVB, halogen bulb, DHP, 2 thermostats that regulate desired heat, timers that regulate the light/heat cycle of 12 hours on/ 12 hours off, and an almost two year old leopard gecko. There is nothing wrong with the gecko. Quite frankly it was a hasty purchase of our daughter and she has since moved away and does not want it. We’ve spent the last two years researching and building the best tank possible for this species and have succeeded but we have two others in the house and don’t want the long commitment of the third. I can also include a step by step on how to maintain the setup. If you’re unfamiliar, bioactive tanks clean themselves. The clean up crew feeds on the decaying matter in the tank which means truly all you do is change water for the gecko and spray a little water daily to give a little moisture to the clean up crew.
